Visitor guidance

Main objectives of the practice is: - Get new visitors to the routes - Give people a possibility to understand that they are in a route, not just in a certain interest point - Give a game-like experiment to the visitors, makes it possible for the younger people to get interested about the routes. - Families are at the focus group. - Give a possibility to track the amount of visitors in the routes online - Give a possibility to guide visitors through the route.

Open Gates

It is not usual to open up the religious monuments for tourists in the Czech Republic. Eastern Moravia (Zlin Region) has a number of important religious monuments including places of pilgrimage. The project was launched in 2008, with the aim to open up selected religious monuments. Zlin Region, Olomouc archdiocese, parishes, municipalities and East – Moravian Tourist Authority are cooperating in this project. Information and marketing materials with information about sites opened were made. The project also created a job for guides (145 persons).

Eastern Moravia Pilgrimage Routes

Pilgrimage route created between Holy Hostyn and Velehrad brought an opportunity to prepare tourism product with the offer of an active pilgrimage. East Moravian Tourist Authority prepared this offer upon suggestion by European Routes promotional organization (I Cammini d´Europa). The specific of this offer is the process of product itinerary creation. This Itinerary, that contains cognition of history, wandering between pilgrimage places, tasting regional cuisine, stay in Luhačovice Spa, was at first verified in practice by two Italian Tourists.

Moravian Amber Trail II

The objective of the project is to increase the contribution of tourism to the economic prosperity of the region NUTS II Central Moravia, increase the promotion of the destination in source markets of Austria, Italy and Germany, and create a supra-competitive tourist product aimed at the target group of these countries. The main key product was multi-day programmes “Moravian Amber Trail”, which was supplemented by other activities such as relaxation, wellness, programmes for children, etc. There were made actions for fulfillment of the objective: • Creation of adventure tourism programs for


B3 POINTS OF INTEREST > Cultural heritage | The main scope of this project is the building-up and marketing of a cross-border cultural heritage tourism product through the conservation, accessibility and valorisation of the archaeological heritage so as to reinforce competitiveness, improve the touristic image of Malta and Sicily, and diversify the overall tourism offer in view of a seasonal adjustment of visitor flows.

Moara Veche Old Mill, Romania

B2 SERVICES > Food & beverage + B3 POINTS OF INTEREST > Local typical products | The restoration of Hosman's long-year abandoned mill and the installation of a traditional bakery therein, were meant to create an impulse to the village's weak economy. Today, this objective is carried forward by running the Old Mill's bakery as a social enterprise and has been widened by creating offers for visitors and tourists as well as children and students (multi-lingual), local crafts markets and cultural events like concerts or the Transilvanian Brunch“.

Moravian Amber Trail I

Main objective of the project was to increase the participation of tourism on economic prosperity in Moravian and Silesian region and enforce this destination on domestic and foreign markets. Specifically, it was the elimination of one of the major weaknesses of the former tourism around the Moravian region - lack of marketable tourism products and underdeveloped system of targeted marketing.

KIRA Cultural Tourism in the Heilbronn-Franken region

KIRA is a cultural tourism network which was founded with the intention to build and establish an efficient interconnection/ interlinking of tourism, culture, economy, administration and tourism affine institutions in the Heilbronn-Franken region in the North of Baden-Wuerttemberg. It is developed by the project’s initiator “Kultur und Arbeit e.V.” in collaboration with stakeholders of the relevant branches.

Odysseus in Baleares

The Euro Mediterranean Cultural Itinerary “ODYSSEUS – Mythical and initiatory travels in the Mediterranean”, which begins with the Mediterranean space has authority to reveal and to make accessible to public of different ages and different cultures the chapters of their common history, by leaning on the identical European cultural, patrimonial and landscaped markers. The main objective is to improve and structure new offers and tourist services of excellence making of each regional destination and harbour city a single stopover, on the basis of a common European reference frame.

The Phoenicians’ Route

The «Phoenicians’ Route» is an international Cultural Route based on the intercultural Mediterranean dialogue, approved by the Council of Europe. The Route crosses 18 Mediterranean countries, with more than 80 towns of Phoenician-Punic origin and culture. The «Phoenicians’ Route» allows the connection of maritime routes that were created on the XII century B.C by the Phoenician people as main channels of trade and cultural communication in the Mediterranean. These routes became an integral and basic part of the Mediterranean culture.
